Scientific Evidence for our Supernatural Bible, Part 1
This series was called “Why The Word??” and was taught at North Christian Church in August of 2022; visit nccdighton.org
1 Th 2:13 And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.
My hope and prayer is that this statement includes YOU, whoever you may be listening to this message right now.
Harboring doubts and skepticism, sometimes to no end, people get in their own way and do damage to their souls.
The Bible would call that hardening their own hearts.
My prayer is that’s not you, and if it might be, that you open your heart right now to examine the evidence that God has provided.
And for you believers listening right now, may the Word work in you even more, to build you up and give you even greater peace and confidence in your relationship with Christ.
These truths we will explore can also be a help in evangelizing those who might use science as an excuse to not believe the Bible.
But if you are able to share a couple of these points with them, because you are well-prepared, it may open their hearts to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and their need for a Savior.
As we will see, God has given us irrefutable, unexplainable evidence in His Word, for all types of people and all types of rationales they come up with.
God is gracious, and has provided answers for all who are humble enough to seek the Truth.
First of all, let’s talk about science…
… and let me say, I am not a scientist, nor do I pretend to be one on TV 🙂
… but I will simply be sharing commonly known scientific facts that anyone can now research, and we will simply be comparing that to what the Bible recorded for us thousands of years ago.
Science may be described as the pursuit of knowledge that is proven out by observation and experimentation (the scientific method).
But, let’s make note that it’s a pursuit to discover things that actually already exist, but are yet unknown to man.
The Objective Truth About Science: Science has never created anything on its own, out of nothing, but rather it has “discovered” many things over the years by taking what God has made available in the physical and natural world.
This is not to say science hasn’t discovered some wonderful things; such as medical vaccines that protect us from some horrible diseases.
The initial point of this series is that even medical discoveries come about by taking things that ALREADY EXIST and researching how they work together, and in what combinations and percentages.
Allow this joke about creation to solidify this point:
A Joke About Creation: There’s a scientist and God. And the scientist challenges God to a contest of who can make the better human being. God tells him that he’s on, at which time the scientist, in great delight, bends over to pick up some dust to make his human being. Then God says, ‘No, no … you go and find your own dust.’
Hopefully, you see the point.
Science has never created anything out of thin air, out of nothing, as the Bible tells us God did in the book of Genesis, in the beginning.
As one man said to me in the park “I believe in the universe”, to which I replied “well where did the universe come from??”
The fact is that science can only use materials that have already been provided by God’s creation, and it is discovering things that already exist, but just aren’t yet known to man.
The Objective Truth About Science: The thing people often overlook is that science simply complements the things written in the Bible, and even validates it as coming from an all-knowing, all-powerful Creator God.
We will see this coming up.
There are many scientists out there that believe in God, many more than people realize.
Why?? – Because the more they discover through their research, the more they realize there MUST be a Creator behind it all…
… that’s the only RATIONAL explanation… you heard me correctly…
… because the universe, and life itself, is far too complicated to have come about by coincidence.
In fact, life itself on earth should not even exist; according to the laws of mathematical probability, it’s mathematically impossible when you consider all the factors.
For example, one Wikipedia page stated that:
Only one in a million million (planets) has the right combination of chemicals, temperature, water, days and nights to support planetary life as we know it.
The fact is if the earth were a tiny tiny fraction closer to the sun, or a tiny tiny fraction further from the sun, life could not exist on our planet.
It’s far beyond coincidence, and mathematics actually proves this out, as we will see on Thursday.
That’s why more and more scientists are turning to God as the only possible explanation for the miracle of life.
We could go on and on about this, but I’ll leave it to you to do some of your own research on what’s been discovered about the universe, to see what we’re talking about here.
However, this series is to show that scientific discoveries, and WHEN they were discovered, actually prove the Bible is a supernatural book, and not just some storybook written by men over the centuries.
We are going to see scientific principles that prove the Bible MUST be the Word of God, and nothing less, because only an all-knowing Creator that is far beyond us could know the things written in the Bible, and particularly WHEN they were written.
We will break this into 2 parts: the first will be scientific principles stated in the Bible, BEFORE man/science discovered them…
… the second will be regarding the laws of mathematical probability… what are the odds of the prophecies in the Bible all coming true hundreds and even thousands of years after they were written?
My hope is, if you have an open mind, that you will see there are so many reasons to trust the Bible as being God’s Word, and the completely accurate recording of God’s thoughts and plans for us.
We trust the Bible as the Word of God because God has given us so many logical reasons to do so… whether you realize it or not right now.
In fact, the Lord graciously calls us to reason together with Him:
Isa 1:18-20 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
they shall become like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
you shall eat the good of the land;
20 but if you refuse and rebel,
you shall be eaten by the sword;
for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
If you are willing to be humble and see the reasonings the Lord gives us, you will be able to conclude Jesus is the Way, and to receive Him as your Lord and Savior from the heart.
Acts 17:2-3 And according to Paul’s custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and giving evidence that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.”
That said, let’s venture into the first part of this series:
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
… BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Please keep this principle in mind as we visit each example!
Here’s our first example:
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
The Bible claims that at one time the earth was completely covered with water. Gen 1:9
Gen 1:9 “Then God said, ‘let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear;’ and it was so.”
According to historical evidence, the book of Genesis was written between 1450-1410 B.C. (over 3400 yrs. ago)
Only recent evidence from science now indicates that the whole earth was originally covered by water!
But how, and why, would a man have recorded this 3400 years ago?
It was Moses who penned the book of Genesis; so how did he know this fact, which science didn’t discover until thousands of years later?
Also, the earth was also completely covered by water again, during the great flood of Noah’s time. (see Gen 6-8)
Until recently, many scientists thought Noah’s ark and the great flood was just a story, but today science has discovered fossils of oceanic creatures on the tops of the highest mountains in the world, not to mention the probable remains of Noah’s ark on the top of mount Ararat. (Google that if you’d like:)
Again:
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
The Bible claims that at one time the earth was completely covered with water. Gen 1:9
(for the most part, we’re just going to keep moving through these different evidences)
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
Thousands of years before telescopes, the Bible stated the purpose of the sun, moon, and stars. Gen 1:14-16
Gen 1:14-16 “Then God said, ‘let there be light in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth;’ and it was so. And God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.”
The consistency and accuracy of time and seasons is still guided by the lights in the heavens, as science now acknowledges many centuries later.
But this was recorded for us in the Bible 3400 years ago for those who would listen.
Now we’ll just keep on moving, looking to simply, objectively state the facts available to us.
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
The Bible tells us that man’s body was made out of the dust of the ground. Gen 2:7
Gen 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
Let’s consider the elements found in the dirt of the ground.
Science has recently discovered that, when reduced to its basic elements, man’s body is found to be composed of the following sixteen elements:
Elements Found in the Human Body:
Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Fluorine, Sodium, Magnesium, Silicon, Sulfur, Phosphorus, Chlorine, Potassium, Calcium, Manganese, Iron and Iodine.
Guess what? – all of these elements are found in the dust of the ground!
But how, and why, would Moses have written this down 3400 years ago? How could he have known this was true??
This is another example of how science is simply catching up to what the Bible said thousands of years ago.
One more thing to note from Gen 2:7 “Then the Lord God formed man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
Science now knows that man’s life depends upon the heartbeat, the pulse, and the brain waves, and the brain is nourished by the blood, which is put in motion by the oxygen inhaled from breathing…
… man still needs the breath of life to live.
Just sayin’ 🙂
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
God promised Abraham that his seed would be without number to the human mind, just as the stars are without number. Gen 15:5
Gen 15:5 And He took him outside and said, “Now look toward the heavens, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” And He said to him, ” So shall your descendants be.”
If the Bible were written according to ancient science, it would have said Abraham’s descendants would have stopped just a few generations later….
… because it was a scientific fact back then, that there were only 4096 stars! No doubt about it! (btw, even modern science is always changing, if you haven’t noticed that yet)
The point is, if the science of that day believed there were only 4096 stars, why would anyone record in the Bible they’re not countable in number??
Today , according to sciencetechdaily.com, science tells us there are over 100 billion stars in our Milky Way galaxy alone.
AND, science estimates there are 2 trillion other galaxies in the universe besides the Milky Way, and they’re also filled with billions of stars too.
These are only estimates; that’s all science can do through using photographs of different parts of the universe…
… but 100 billion stars in the Milky Way x 2 trillion other galaxies with a similar amount of stars gives an estimate of 200 billion trillion stars.
Here’s what that number looks like:
Estimated Stars in the Universe
100 billion stars X 2 trillion galaxies = 200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
Obviously, that number is hard to fathom, but they go on to say : “It’s about 10 times the number of cups of water in all the oceans of Earth.”
And we now also know thousands of years later that Abraham’s seed is without number just as the stars are, as God promised him.
How, and why, would a man have written this down 3400 years ago when mankind(science) thought that 4096 stars was a scientific fact?
How could a man have written this, unless he had help from a Divine Author?
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
The Bible tells us the stars have courses, or paths. Jdg 5:20
Judges 5:20 “The stars fought from heaven, from their courses they fought against Sisera.”
Today through telescopes science can tell us this is true, but in the ancient world how could man have written that the stars have definite paths they travel?
Science is once again catching up with the Bible.
And that’s because only our Creator God could have directed the writing of this Supernatural Book called the Bible.
(and no other religious book in the world boasts of such evidences)
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
The Bible also informed man that the earth is round. Is 40:22, Pr 8:27
Now, the flat earth theory aside, I’m sticking with the Word of God on this one. 🙂
Is 40:22 “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers.”
Wisdom speaks to us in Pr 8, and we see another reference to a circle.
Pr 8:27-29
When he established the heavens, I was there;
when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,
28 when he made firm the skies above,
when he established the fountains of the deep,
29 when he assigned to the sea its limit,
so that the waters might not transgress his command, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
When the Old Testament was written, most of the ancient scientists believed the earth to be flat.
It wasn’t until 1519-1521 A.D., only 500 years ago, that a Portuguese navigator, Ferdinand Magellan, was the first to circle the earth and prove that it was round.
And the book of Isaiah was written about 700 B.C., about 2700 years ago.
Why would a man have written that the earth was round when everyone else from his time thought the world was flat?
He would certainly be considered an outcast, or even nuts… unless he was convicted by an all-knowing God to record this for us in the Bible.
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
The Bible claims that the earth is suspended in space! Job 26:7
You might be like, “but of course!”, but that’s because you and I grew up with photographs from space, showing such a reality!
Step back in time, my friends! No photographs, no internet, just you and I on the ground looking up!
Job 26:7 “He stretches out the north over empty space, and hangs the earth on nothing.”
The book of Job was written over 3500 years ago, at a time when science believed the earth was not only flat, but was also supported on the backs of elephants, turtles or serpents!
It sounds silly to us today, but that’s what the most intelligent men of the day were saying, who were trying to figure out the earth.
It was not until modern times that the earth was found to be suspended in empty space.
Science is finally catching up to the Bible.
Again, how could a man have written this, unless he had help from a Divine Author?
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
God’s Word claims that the air has weight. Job 28:25
(it’s interesting that the oldest book in the Bible records so many scientific facts for us 🙂
Job 28:25 “He imparted weight to the wind, and meted out the waters by measure.”
The fact that air had weight was not demonstrated until the famous scientist Blaise Pascal, in 1648 A.D., proved that it did! (this was 3000 years after this was written for us in the Bible)
Pascal was a French mathematician and physicist, and by the way, he was also a believer in the Lord.
Who knows, maybe he knew of this scripture in Job 28:25.
So, one of the smartest guys on the earth in 1648 finally figured this out, yet someone over 3500 years ago wrote this scientific fact down on paper?
How could man have written this without the help of a supernatural, all-knowing Being? (this is the same reason some scientists turn to believing in aliens, because they conclude there has to be a more intelligent life source behind all of this!!!)
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
God causes vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth! Ps 135:7, Job 36:27
Job 36:27 “For He draws up the drops of water, they distill rain from the mist,”
The author of Psalm 135 recorded the same scientific fact.
Ps 135:7 He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; Who makes lightnings for the rain, Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries.
This might not seem like a big deal to us now, because everyone knows this, right???
But mankind didn’t know that rain water came from evaporation until 1888 A.D., not even 150 years ago, when a German scientist formulated the basic laws of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and hydrodynamics.
So it again begs the question: how, and why, did the Old Testament writers write such silly things down so long ago???
The scientists of their day would have certainly scoffed at them.
Our next scientific principle which was stated in the Bible, WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
The Word of God claims that there are regions where the surface of the sea is frozen! Job 38:30
Job 38:30 The waters become hard like stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
This must have sounded so ludicrous to the people living back in Job’s day…
… just picture living in the beautiful climate of ancient Mesopotamia and hearing this…
… because science didn’t discover that the ocean could be frozen until the 17th century when Henry Hudson explored the arctic regions of the North Pole!
Yet, by faith, a God-fearing man recorded this for us in the Bible over 3500 years ago.
Our final scientific principle stated in the Bible (and there are more), WELL BEFORE man/science ever discovered them.
Scientific Principles Stated in the Bible…
There is a prophecy of a time when man will not be able to buy or sell without a mark on his arm or his head. Rev 13:16-17
Rev 13:16-17 He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
Written almost 2000 years ago in the book of Revelation, this was a very strange claim to make at a time when technology was limited to making coins to buy and sell with.
But today, and only in the last few decades, we finally have the technology.
Not until recently has it been possible to mark every member of the human race, whether it be using an eye scan or a computer chip, for example.
Today we also have the technology to keep track of most people on earth, through things like Social Security numbers, computers and satellites and cell phones!
We have the technology to record everyone’s fingerprints, and even eye scans are becoming more popular in identification.
This could also be the methods of the predicted mark on the right hand (fingerprint) or on the forehead (eyescan), although computer chips now seem even more likely!
The point is that never before was this prophecy legitimately possible!
How, and why, would a man have written this 2000 years ago, unless he had direct guidance from God Himself about what the future would hold?
The Bible has many evidences of being a supernatural book from our Almighty, Omniscient God…
… and with all this proof we must go to the Bible for all answers about life.
Let’s end Part 1 this way: There’s no such thing as Chance.
Chance is a false god worshipped by modern man, even by science. So is that thing called Fate.
These are false gods given as an excuse to not believe in and submit to one’s God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
GOD is the only rational explanation to the universe and to life itself.
And in part 2, we will explore the laws of mathematical probability, and the mathematical odds of multiple prophecies about the Messiah coming true centuries after they were written.
Here’s the lyrics to a beautiful song:
“Has To Be God” by Tauren Wells
When I think of how the moon Has the ocean on a string and you Hold me in your gravity, it’s God, It has to be God.
And when I hear the man singing our song on the street, there’s Something that lifts me like a melody, it’s God, yeah it has to be God.
It’s bigger than religion and it’s more than just a dream It’s higher than logic when it comes to you and me, It’s God.
Can’t deny the truth when I look at you,
This love that we’ve got, It has to be God.
I can feel the proof when I’m holding you This love that we’ve got, It has to be God.
Some people say it’s fate but there’s only one to thank for the fortune , blessings that we can’t contain ,
It’s God, it has to be God.
Amen?!!
What did Jesus say to the disciples on the road to Emmaus, immediately after His resurrection??
Lk 24:25-27 And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” 27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
We might be wise to do the same for others, given the right timing and circumstances.
The Spirit will use us to speak the Truth to others in various ways…
… always our speech being seasoned with the salt of grace…
… but sometimes He convicts us to get right to the Gospel with people, and sometimes to reason with people with the evidences in Holy Scripture.
Next we will see that according to science, it’s mathematically impossible for the Prophecies about the Messiah to all have come true perfectly.
There MUST be a God over all of this, and as you’ll see, His Name is Jesus, the Name above all Names.
Why The Word?? – Scientific Evidence for our Supernatural Bible, Part 2
This series was called “Why The Word??” and was taught at North Christian Church in August of 2022; visit www.nccdighton.org
My prayer is that you use the points from this series to reach out to others with the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In fact, why not memorize your favorite 2 or 3 points from Part 1 of this series??
- maybe it’s the verse in Job about the sea being frozen over, hard as stone, even though no one had ever been to the North Pole to see it
- or maybe it’s the verse in Genesis where it says God made man from the dust of the ground, and the 16 main elements that we’ve been proven now to be made of.
- or maybe that the Bible said the earth was round thousands of years before science ever discovered it, as ancient science thought it was flat and on the back of turtles 🙂
How might these things open up some minds to consider the Bible is the Word of God?
We are called to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in us:
1 Pe 3:14-16a
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, 15 but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; 16 yet do it with gentleness and respect,
What if you knew, down pat, the scientific point and scripture as proof of God’s inspiration of the Bible, proving that it’s “Holy”, and not just another book??
We are called to do our job as faithful messengers of God’s Word, and part of that is sharing the gracious proofs God has provided for us.
Remember this verse??
Ac 17:2-3 And according to Paul’s custom, he went to them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, explaining and giving evidence that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus whom I am proclaiming to you is the Christ.”
In Part 2, we will specifically be doing just that, regarding the evidence of Jesus being the Christ; the promised One mentioned by the prophets of old.
Just a couple points of review, as we’re talking about scientific evidence that reveals the Bible must be the Word of God:
The Objective Truth About Science
The thing people often overlook is that science simply complements the things written in the Bible, and even validates it as coming from an all-knowing, all-powerful Creator God.
We also noted in Part 1, that life itself on earth should not even exist according to the laws of mathematical probability,…
… and we examined the scientific principles stated in the Bible, LONG BEFORE man/science ever discovered them… and there are many.
This gave us evidence of a divine Author for the Bible who must have inspired certain men on what to write, which is why we can call it “Holy Scripture”.
In Part 2, we will focus more on the laws of mathematical probability… what are the odds of the prophecies and predictions in the Bible all coming true, hundreds and even thousands of years after they were written?
In the Old Testament, the prophets recorded that God would one day save His people from their sins.
And one day, centuries afterwards, He fulfilled His promise by becoming a man, the Messiah, God in the flesh, also called Emmanuel which means “God with us”. (Isa 7:14, 9:6)
There are many prophecies that predicted what the God-man would be like, where He would be born, and what He would go through in his life.
Only a perfect, omni-scient God could make all of these prophecies without error.
Let’s warm up with the fact that God told us that He was going to tell us the future!
Is 46:8-11
“Remember this, and be assured;
Recall it to mind, you transgressors.
9 “Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying,’My purpose will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;
11 Calling a bird of prey from the east,
The man of My purpose from a far country.
Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.
I have planned it, surely I will do it.
A great deal of the Bible talks about future predictions.
The Bible is the only religious book in the world that dares to predict future events in great detail.
Other religious books don’t have detailed prophecies, because it’s impossible to do so unless you’re the Omniscient One, which means “Omni-science”, the One with all knowledge!
The Bible has hundreds of incredibly accurate prophecies about many different people and events over thousands of years.
This is God’s signature on the Bible; the proof that it is God-breathed.
2 Ti 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
God even set forth a challenge to false prophets to tell the future, and the challenge has remained for 2500 years!
Is 41:21-23
“Present your case,” the LORD says.
“Bring forward your strong arguments,”
The King of Jacob says.
22 Let them bring forth and declare to us what is going to take place;
As for the former events, declare what they were,
That we may consider them, and know their outcome;
Or announce to us what is coming.
23 Declare the things that are going to come afterward,
That we may know that you are gods;
No one has succeeded in this, other than what we find in the Bible.
And people love to offer up the name of Nostradamus and his predictions, but a true prophet is able to give SPECIFIC, not general, prophecies…
… and he is also correct EVERY time.
Inaccuracies are how we recognize false prophets who are empowered by the kingdom of darkness.
And because true prophets are correct every time, as recorded in the Bible, this is “Why The Word?”!!… this is why we believe and know the Bible is the Word of God!
Now let’s talk about the laws of mathematical probability…
… after all, we’re talking about scientific evidence that proves the Bible must be the Word of God.
This is a scientific principle; the way science tells us to accurately figure out the chances, or the odds, of certain things happening when combined together.
The Laws of Mathematical Probability
Statistical theory shows if the probability of one event occurring is 1 in 5, and of another event is 1 in 10, then the probability of both events being fulfilled in sequence is 1 in 5×10, or 1 in 50.
You simply multiply the bottom numbers, here the 5 and the 10, to get the chances of BOTH things coming true.
For example, if I’m holding one hand behind my back, the odds are 1 in 5 that you will guess how many fingers I’m holding out, because I only have 5 fingers… right? 🙂
If I’m holding both hands behind my back, the odds are 1 in 10 that you can guess how many fingers I’m holding out.
And the odds of you guessing correctly in both instances are the two multiplied together, which would be 1 in 5×10, or 1 in 50. Capisce?? 🙂
So what we’re going to do is give conservative estimates of the odds of certain Bible prophecies coming true, and then keep a running tally of the odds of MULTIPLE prophecies coming true, acc. to the laws of mathematical probability.
Let’s consider today only one area of prophecy and its fulfillment; the coming of the Messiah.
And keep in mind, these various prophecies are written by different men in different centuries; which is even further evidence of the Spirit of God inspiring them on what to write.
Messianic Prophecies
The Bible teaches the Messiah would come from the tribe of Judah; one of the 12 tribes descended from Jacob. Gen 49:10 cf. Luk 3:34,Heb 7:14
Gen 49:10 “The scepter shall not depart from Judah,
Nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet,
Until Shiloh (Messiah) comes,
And to him shall be the obedience of the peoples.”
Heb 7:14 tells us the Lord is descended from the tribe of Judah, as also apparent in Jesus’ genealogy given in Luk 3:23-34.
Heb 7:14
For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, and in connection with that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.
Ironically, the author of Hebrews stated this while pointing out that Jesus wasn’t of the priestly line of Levi, who’s another of the sons of Jacob.
But, to stick to our lesson topic, what is the probability that Jesus would come from the tribe of Judah, as predicted in Gen 49, when there were 11 other possible tribes? – 1 in 12 tribes.
So, here’s our starting point. The odds are 1 in 12 that this prophecy about the Messiah would come true, and it came true in Jesus 1500 years after Genesis was written.
Our next prophecy:
Messianic Prophecies
The Bible also predicts the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. Mic 5:2 cf. Mat 2:1
Mic 5:2 “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah,
Too little to be among the clans of Judah,
From you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel.
His goings forth are from long ago,
From the days of eternity.”
This is obviously a reference to the Messiah who came from the days of eternity.
This was fulfilled at the birth of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew centuries later, and Jewish historical records also support Jesus being born in Bethlehem.
Bethlehem was a small town, apparently, as compared to so many other significant towns in the land of Judah.
Mt 2:1
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king.
Now what is the probability of this coming true? Conservatively let’s say 1 in 200, as there were at least 200 towns in Judea back then.
Some historians say there were many more towns than that.
So now, we have to multiply the first 2 prophetic odds together to keep our running tally, right?
The odds of Jesus being born from the tribe of Judah was 1 in 12, and here the odds are 1 in 200 that the Messiah would actually be born in tiny Bethlehem.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200, we get the odds of both of these two prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 2400.
Do you see? Here’s how we scientifically figure out the odds of all these things coming true. 🙂
Now, let’s keep the ball rolling:
Messianic Prophecies
The Messiah would one day be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver. Zech 11:12 cf. Mat 26:15
Written hundreds of years beforehand, it later took place with the betrayal of our Lord Jesus by Judas Iscariot.
Zech 11:12-13 Then I said to them, “If it seems good to you, give me my wages; but if not, keep them.” And they weighed out as my wages thirty pieces of silver. 13 Then the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter“— the lordly price at which I was priced by them. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the Lord, to the potter.
We actually have two prophecies here, as you will see.
Fast forward over 500 years…
Mt 26:14-16 Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests 15 and said, “What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?” And they paid him thirty pieces of silver. 16 And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray him.
Mt 27:3-7 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.” 5 And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself. 6 But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is blood money.” 7 So they took counsel and bought with them the potter’s field as a burial place for strangers.
The potter’s field aside, what are the odds it would be exactly 30 pieces of silver??
Let’s conservatively say probability is 1 in 100, there could have been any number of pieces of silver (it could have been 2,3,4,20,30,40, 98,99,100, 200, 300, 1000!), or it also could have been gold, or bronze, or none at all!
That’s why 1 in 100 is certainly conservative here.
So now, my friends, we have 3 probabilities to combine together, to see the odds of all 3 predictions coming true.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100, we get the odds of these three prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 240,000.
Are you with me so far??
And if you believe the Lord Jesus arranged these events on his own, then look at the difficulty of arranging who His ancestors would be, arranging where He would be born, and arranging the exact price of His betrayal!
By the way, there are 48 specific prophecies in the Old Testament that point to Jesus Christ being the Messiah.
We’re only going to cover 11 Messianic prophecies, and we’ll continue calculating the odds according to the laws of mathematical probability.
As you’re probably beginning to see, the odds are going to be staggering.

Messianic Prophecies
The Messiah would be preceded by a messenger. Is 40:3 cf. Mt 3:1-3
Let’s conservatively say the probability is 1 in 20.
After all, the Messiah could have been said to be preceded by any number of things, or nothing at all.
Is 40:3 A voice is calling, “Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness; Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.
This was fulfilled over 700 years later, as recorded in :
Mt 3:1-3 Now in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying, 2 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” 3 For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet, saying, “The voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make ready the way of the Lord, Make His paths straight!'”
John the Baptist’s main mission was to make the people ready for the official public appearance of Jesus as the Messiah.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20, we get the odds of these four prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 4,800,000!
If you don’t mind, we’re going to start using exclamation points! 🙂

Messianic Prophecies
The Messiah would enter Jerusalem on a colt. Zech 9:9 cf. Lk 19:33-38
He could have entered many different ways, on a camel, on his own two feet, carried by men as a champion, or even by planes and cars if He had come later in time!
Remember, Zechariah was written 500 years before Jesus was even born.
Let’s conservatively say the probability is 1 in 20.
Zech 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you;
He is just and endowed with salvation,
Humble, and mounted on a donkey,
Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
This was fulfilled in :
Lk 19:33-38
And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?” 34 And they said, “The Lord has need of it.” 35 And they brought it to Jesus, and they threw their garments on the colt, and put Jesus on it.
36 And as He was going, they were spreading their garments in the road. 37 And as He was now approaching, near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to praise God joyfully with a loud voice for all the miracles which they had seen, 38 saying,“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord; Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20, we get the odds of these five prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 96,000,000!
Is that enough?? 🙂 Or shall we keep on going??
What we’re going to see is that all these prophecies being fulfilled in the life of one man hundreds of years later is actually leading to an impossible number, according to the scientific laws of mathematical probability.
Again, this is why many scientists are turning to God and the Bible as the only possible explanation for all of this.

Messianic Prophecies
The Messiah would be betrayed by a friend. Ps 41:9 cf. Jn 13:18
Let’s just say the probability of this occurring is 1 in 20 – He could have been betrayed by an enemy, a mother in law, a ruler, a son or a daughter…. or even nobody at all!
First of all, here’s the prophecy, written approximately 1000 B.C.
Ps 41:9 Even my close friend, in whom I trusted,
Who ate my bread,
Has lifted up his heel against me.
This was fulfilled when Jesus said :
Jn 13:18 “I do not speak of all of you. I know the ones I have chosen; but it is that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’
Eating bread refers to the intimacy of sharing a table with friends. (this was very intimate in Biblical times)
Remember, it was at the Last Supper when Jesus broke the bread and passed it around in the presence of Judas, His betrayer.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20 x 20, we get the odds of these six prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 1,920,000,000!

Messianic Prophecies
The Messiah would have His hands and feet pierced! Ps 22:16 cf. Lk 23:33
Let’s say the probability is conservatively 1 in 50.
Jesus could have died or been killed any number of ways; by disease, heart attack, beating, stoning, pushed off a cliff… or by guns, electric chair, or injection if He had come later in time!
And when this prophecy was written in the book of Psalms, 1000 years before Christ, crucifixion was not even invented yet as a means of capital punishment, historically speaking!
That’s a stunner. Why would anyone write His hands and feet would be pierced when no means of such a type of death existed??
And by the way, you might ask some of your friends to examine the odds of what we are noting.
Ps 22:16 For dogs have surrounded me;
A band of evildoers has encompassed me;
They pierced my hands and my feet.
This was fulfilled in :
Lk 23:33 And when they came to the place called The Skull, there they crucified Him and the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20 x 20 x 50, we get the odds of these seven prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 96,000,000,000!
We’ll continue the tally, and see the finale’, in Part 3 of this series.
But think about the kinds of odds we’re talking about here!
To now think the Bible is NOT supernatural is actually an irrational thought.
Nothing else but an Omniscient Being could be behind this… and thankfully this same God is also loving towards us sinners.
Why The Word?
The Bible is like no other religious book. It’s prophecies have all come true as proof it’s supernatural, and that’s why we can turn to it for the Truth about life and salvation, as well!
Remember this verse we started with??
Is 46:8-11
“Remember this, and be assured;
Recall it to mind, you transgressors.
9 “Remember the former things long past,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is no one like Me,
10 Declaring the end from the beginning
And from ancient times things which have not been done,
Saying,’My purpose will be established,
And I will accomplish all My good pleasure’;
11 Calling a bird of prey from the east,
The man of My purpose from a far country.
Truly I have spoken; truly I will bring it to pass.
I have planned it, surely I will do it.
We do indeed have the Word of God in the Bible.
And this Messiah who revealed Himself in the Person of Jesus Christ was actually God in the flesh who came to save us from our sins.

I want to thank Pastor Collins for the opp. to stand behind his pulpit, and also for giving me one more day to finish this prophecy series, rather than squeezing it all in on Thursday.
A couple people actually told me they were confused by how we came up with some of the numbers, so I’m grateful we can take our time and go through this so it makes sense.
We are called to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is in us:
1 Pe 3:14-16a
But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, 15 but in your hearts regard Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; 16 yet do it with gentleness and respect,
Omni-science Behind the Bible
Prophecy is one proof that God has given us “Holy Scripture” that is “God-breathed”. 2Ti 3:15-16
2 Ti 3:14-17
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.
Paul was talking about the OT prophets, here…. and how they pointed to Jesus as the Christ, well before the New Testament letters were compiled.
We’re being called by the Spirit to know and use these proofs at the proper time, to show people the God-given evidence behind our faith.
In Part 2&3, we’re specifically doing just that, regarding the evidence of Jesus being the Christ; the promised One mentioned by the prophets of old.
We’re focusing on the laws of mathematical probability… what are the odds of the prophecies and predictions in the Bible all coming true, hundreds and even thousands of years after they were written?
In the Old Testament, the prophets recorded that God would one day save His people from their sins.
And one day, centuries afterwards, He fulfilled His promise by becoming a man, the Messiah, God in the flesh, also called Emmanuel which means “God with us”. (Isa 7:14, 9:6)
There are many prophecies that predicted what the God-man would be like, where He would be born, and what He would go through in his life.
Only a perfect, omni-scient God could make all of these prophecies without error.
And, one more mention here,… people love to offer up the name of Nostradamus and his predictions, but a true prophet is able to give SPECIFIC, not general, prophecies…
… and he is also correct EVERY time.
Inaccuracies are how we recognize false prophets who are empowered by the kingdom of darkness.
Now let’s again talk about the laws of mathematical probability…
This is a scientific principle; the way science would attempt to figure out the chances, or the odds, of certain things happening when combined together.
If you were at all confused about how we came to our numbers in Part 2, please pay special attention to this statement…
So let me give you another example, I hope this helps…
If I put 99 silver coins in a piggybank, and only 1 gold coin in with it, your chances of picking out the gold coin are 1 in 100, right??
What if I set up another piggybank with the same amount of coins, and you get to try it again?? Chances for that piggybank are also 1 in 100 to get the gold coin, right??
But what are the chances that you’ll pick out the gold coin out of BOTH of the piggybanks?? ( you only get one pick out of each one)
You might say “I’d have to get REALLY LUCKY to get them both!”, and you’d be right… you know those chances are small.
The laws of mathematical probability tell us that would be 1 in 10,000.
How do we get that?? By multiplying the two odds together… 1 in 100 x 100 = 10,000. (grab a calculator:)
You might not think the odds are that low, but those are the chances according to this scientific principle.
Now, if you want to understand WHY science has come up with this formula… you might want to go study Statistical Theory! 🙂
But for our purposes, just know this is how science says it works. 🙂
In Part 2, we started giving conservative estimates of the odds of certain Bible prophecies coming true, and then kept a running tally of the odds of MULTIPLE prophecies coming true.
Let’s consider today only one area of prophecy and its fulfillment; the coming of the Messiah.
And today, we’ll review our first 6 prophecies again, just putting the initial scripture on the board, and then we’ll finish up the remaining prophecies to get to our finale’. 🙂
And hopefully, if you were struggling during Part 2, this will make more sense to you this time.
What is the probability that Jesus would come from the tribe of Judah, as predicted in Gen 49, when there were 11 other possible tribes, as well? – 1 in 12 tribes.
So, here’s our starting point.
Messianic Prophecies
The odds are 1 in 12 that the Messiah would actually be born in the line of Judah, and it came true in Jesus’ birth 1500 years after Genesis was written.
Now, just keep that in mind.
This was fulfilled at the birth of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew centuries later.
Bethlehem was a small town, apparently, as compared to so many other significant towns in the land of Judah.
Mat 26:15,27:7
Written hundreds of years beforehand, it later took place with the betrayal of our Lord Jesus by Judas Iscariot in Mat 26.
We actually have two prophecies here, as the potter’s field was also fulfilled in Mat 27.
The potter’s field aside, what are the odds that the Lord would be betrayed for exactly 30 pieces of silver??
Let’s conservatively say probability is 1 in 100, there could have been any number of pieces of silver (it could have been 2,3,4,20,30,40, 98,99,100, 200, 300, 1000!), or it also could have been gold, or bronze, or none at all!
That’s why giving odds of 1 in 100 is certainly conservative here.
So now, my friends, we have 3 probabilities to combine together, to see the odds of all 3 predictions coming true.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100, we get the odds of all three prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 240,000.
Are you with me so far??
And again, if you might think that Jesus arranged these events on his own, then look at the difficulty of arranging who His ancestors would be, arranging where He would be born, and arranging the exact price of His betrayal!

Notice, also, this Messiah would be God Himself.
This was fulfilled over 700 years later, as recorded in Mat 3.
As we know, John the Baptist’s main mission was to make the people ready for the official public appearance of Jesus as the Messiah.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined

Remember, Zechariah was written 500 years before Jesus was even born.

Zech 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!

Behold, your king is coming to you;
He is just and endowed with salvation,
Humble, and mounted on a donkey,
Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
This was fulfilled in Lk 19.
So, what are the odds NOW, of these first 5 prophecies ALL coming true, without even 1 being wrong?? (that’s the key… it’s truly a LONG SHOT if not even one of them can be wrong… that’s the point of these mathematical laws)
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20, we get the odds of all five prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 96,000,000!
If these numbers seem too big to you, take out a calculator and multiply them together to see it for yourself.
What we’re going to see is that all these prophecies being fulfilled in the life of one man hundreds of years later is actually leading to what science might call an impossible number, if there really is such a thing.
Remember the movie “Dumb and Dumber”?
Remember the young lady is trying not to break his heart, saying his chances of them going out are only one in a million? 🙂
Then he said “so you’re telling me there’s a chance!” 🙂
He missed the point, right? The point was that it’s NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE.
Yes, there’s a 1 before all of these, but when the number gets so large, scientists say we might as well call it impossible.
And again, this is why so many scientists have turned to God and the Bible as the only rational explanation for all of this.

Ps 22:16 For dogs have surrounded me;
A band of evildoers has encompassed me;

So now let’s add this to our tally…. 1 in 50.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20 x 20 x 50, we get the odds of all seven prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 96,000,000,000!
I think this is where we left off in Part 2, so now we’ll visit a few more scriptures along the way 🙂

Messianic Prophecies
The Messiah would be wounded by His enemies and whipped by them. Is 53:5 cf. Mt 27:26
Let’s say the probability of this is only 1 in 25, as any number of events could have occurred before His death.
This is a pretty specific prophecy:
Is 53:5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
This was fulfilled hundreds of years later in the eyewitness accounts of the Gospels.
So again, we’re saying odds of 1 in 25.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20 x 20 x 50 x 25, we get the odds of all eight prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 2,400,000,000,000!
(we’re in the trillions now!)
We are looking at supernatural evidence here, my friends.
Please don’t miss the point; this is how science says we are to figure this out!!
Only an all-knowing God can be behind all these prophecies being fulfilled many centuries after they were recorded in the Bible!

Messianic Prophecies
The Messiah will be spit upon and beaten. Is 50:6 cf. Mt 26:67
Let’s conservatively say the probability 1 in 10.
How many criminals do you know are spit on and beaten when they go to trial?
Is 50:6 I gave My back to those who strike Me,
And My cheeks to those who pluck out the beard;
I did not cover My face from humiliation and spitting.
This was fulfilled in :
Mt 26:67 Then they spat in His face and beat Him with their fists; and others slapped Him,
Is this simply another coincidence?
Or, is it another specific prophecy that came true in the life of one man?
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20 x 20 x 50 x 25 x 10, we get the odds of all nine prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 24,000,000,000,000! (trillion!)

Messianic Prophecies
The Messiah would be silent before His accusers. Is 53:7 cf. Mt 27:12-14
What are the odds of that?
Let’s say the probability of such a specific statement coming true is 1 in 100, especially because it would take supernatural discipline to not say anything in your defense, especially if you were being threatened with death and you knew you were innocent!
Is 53:7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He did not open His mouth;
Like a lamb that is led to slaughter,
And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers,
So He did not open His mouth.
This was fulfilled hundreds of years later in Jesus’ trials in :
Mt 27:12-14 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He made no answer. 13 Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” 14 And He did not answer him with regard to even a single charge, so that the governor was quite amazed.
Why was Pilate so amazed? Because the odds of someone remaining silent in this type of situation are very small!
It’s possible this Roman governor, who had punished many other criminals, had never seen such a thing before.
He was probably used to people opening their mouths to beg for their lives, or at the very least defend themselves and try to talk their way out of it. (isn’t that what you would do if your life was on the line?)
This is another reason we love our Lord so much..
… because He knew His mission and therefore remained silent, surrendering to a guilty verdict so that He could be judged in our place to save our lives.
So, conservatively, the odds are 1 in 100 that He would remain silent before His accusers.
If you asked Pilate, he might say it’s 1 in thousands.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20 x 20 x 50 x 25 x 10 x 100, we get the odds of all ten prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 2,400,000,000,000,000!

Probability 1 in 100; and that’s conservative!
What are the odds of being put to death with multiple thieves by one’s side?
Is 53:12 Because He poured out Himself to death,
And was numbered with the transgressors;
Yet He Himself bore the sin of many,
And interceded for the transgressors.
This was fulfilled in :
Mk 15:27-28 And they crucified two robbers with Him, one on His right and one on His left. 28[And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “And He was numbered with transgressors.”]
And He interceded specifically for them, as was part of Isaiah’s prophecy, later saying to the thief who believed in Him that today he would be with Him in paradise.
Mathematical Odds of Prophecies Combined
If we multiply 12 x 200 x 100 x 20 x 20 x 20 x 50 x 25 x 10 x 100 x 100, we get the odds of all eleven prophecies coming true: which is 1 in 240,000,000,000,000,000!
The answer is 1 chance in 24 to the 16th power. 1 in 24 with 16 zeros after it; those are the mathematical odds that one person could fulfill just these 11 prophecies!
For all this to occur “by chance”, we would have to call it “impossible”.
With conservative probabilities of these things actually happening to the Messiah, we would have to mathematically say it’s not possible.
Our hope is that some people become believers in Jesus Christ because of these staggering prophecies…
… and this is after examining only 11 of the 48 Messianic prophecies that all came true in the life of Jesus Christ.
To now think the Bible is NOT supernatural is actually an irrational thought.
Nothing else but an Omniscient Being could be behind all of these predictions…
… and thankfully this same God is also loving towards us sinners.
Why The Word?
The Bible is like no other religious book. Its prophecies have all come true as proof of its supernatural origin, and that’s why we can turn to it for the Truth about life and salvation and what’s to come, as well!
We do indeed have the Word of God in the Bible.
And this Messiah who revealed Himself in the Person of Jesus Christ was actually God in the flesh who came to save us from our sins.
Jn 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Jn 1:14
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
This is why we believe that through humble, repentant faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we can be saved from the Judgment and receive the gift of salvation. Rom 6:23
This is why we believe the Bible when it says that God purchased our salvation on the Cross with His own blood.
Ac 20:28
Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
So now we should know, with greater certainty, that we are redeemed and set free by faith in Christ.
The same Bible that predicted the future accurately so many times is the same Bible that tells us this:
Jn 3:16-18
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
You are a sinner and you need the Savior.
If you haven’t placed your trust in Christ as your Lord and Savior, the promised Messiah, do so now before your time is up!
2 Co 6:1-2
Working together with him, then, we appeal to you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
If you bow before the Lord and trust Him for your salvation, God will save you and reserve a place for you in heaven forever and ever.
Ro 10:9-11
because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. 11 For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Now, hopefully we all know “Why the Word??”
We know we can rest on the Truth of the Word of God.
In Christ’s Name, Amen.
